This netbook is pretty good but doesn't have the approx. 10 hour battery that is advertised. The most I have been able to get is 7 hours fully charged but once you open an application then the battery meter goes to 5 hours. Better than nothing.

Bought this to take with me to South Africa for the World Cup, as I needed something lightweight & reliable and the reviews were good. It's perfect for internet use, sroting music and photos, etc. and since I do not need it as a word processor had all the features I wanted. Battery life is pretty good, seems to last about 8 hours under most circumstances, and the screen has a nice crisp image. At someone's suggestion here I went with the white one as the black supposedly shows fingerprints, etc., from use. That was a good move. This little, lightweight netbook is fast enough for anything I needed, and held up well.

I did a ton of research trying to find the best netbook and Asus is on the top of the list. Probably rated by gamers and a bunch of teenagers because there are more of them in this world, that's why this brand is so popular. Window 7 is complicated because it has too much unnecessary things. Why does Asus have their own liveupdate and other junks I don't understand.

This computer needs memory upgrade for sure because of all the things it has it needs it. Slower than my Lenovo. I did not hear of Asus flickering problem until I got it. I've used Dell, Gateway, HP in previous years and never had no flickering issues.

On the positive side: Like the keyboard, easier to type on. Like that it has longer battery, like that it is energy star.

Do not like all the crap installed, slow processing time, and of course the constant flicker.

Maybe you'll have better luck. I like windows xp professional. Go with any processor professional if you want things running a little smoother.
